Mike Marshall - This Blog's for You

Today we took Sydney and Tanner to the groomers.  We went out for breakfast and then Huli and I just kind of chilled around the motorhome until we picked the dogs up in the afternoon.  We then washed the car and headed back to the motorhome.  I went looking for the bicycle teams that are participating in the Tour of Utah race tomorrow.  I went over to Southern Utah University and saw several teams and the trailers and trucks that support the teams.  I met several of the racers and the bike mechanics but since I don't know anything about bike racing or bike racers I wasn't sure if the people I was shaking hands with were popular racers or not and it really didn't matter to me.  Two mechanics did show me the bike of what they said was a world champion racer from Mexico and even separated it out from other bikes so I could take pictures of it. They also showed me the bike of a cyclist that was voted the best young cyclist who is also from Mexico.

Here are today's pictures.  I hope you like looking at bicycles that would probably cost about $20,000 plus each if you could buy them.  One mechanic told me the bike he was working on was 90% carbon fiber.

They are prepared in case there is a flat.

This is the bike that is 90% carbon fiber.

I believe these two bikes were part of the Hincapie Team.  Notice the front ring gear or what I call the sprocket and how it is oblong and not round.  The mechanic said they have two riders who ride bikes with this style sprocket.

Here is the other one.

This is the guy who is supposed to be the best young cyclist.

He has some hot peppers hanging from his seat that are his good luck charms.

Notice how big the frames are becoming on some bikes.
