We are farther south and out of the rain and hopefully the cold

We are now in Sevierville, Tennessee at the River Plantation RV Resort.  Believe it or not this place is almost full and it is a big rv park (442 rv sites).  One reason for that is there is a Newmar rally for District 5 going on here later in the week. When checking in a person asked us if we were here for the rally which we told him we knew nothing about.  District 5 is for Tennessee and states south so Indiana is in a different Newmar district.  We don't get involved in the Newmar rally events but will go over later in the week and talk to some of the Newmar people that are here.  Last night we were at General Butler State Park in Ky but decided to head farther south today where we hope it will be warmer and dryer.  We plan on staying here until the 12th when we will head to Gaffney, SC for the motorhome service appointment.  I didn't take any pictures the last couple of days but I will try to make up for it if we see things around here worth posting.

I don't plan on getting as close to a bear as I did the last time we were in this area.  In fact,  I would never intentionally get within 5 feet of a bear.  To this day I think back and am so grateful that the bear was as calm as he was.  However, we will be going to Cades cove this week since it is one of our favorite places in the world and hope to see other bears but not as close as the one we saw last year.

The last two days the motorhome did great but the mileage wasn't good being just over seven miles per gallon.  We drove through strong winds both Wednesday and Thursday as well as quite a lot of mountains on Thursday. I guess that is to be expected when you are driving your house down the road.  We drove most of the way at 65 miles per hour unless we were going down hill when it was over 65.  We passed a lot of trucks going up hill.   Today Huli put a Hawaiian chicken recipe in the crock pot in the morning when we left and we had it for supper in the evening after arriving at the rv park.  It was great.  We are looking for more crock pot recipes.  I told her when we leave for Gaffney I am going to put on ham and beans in the crock pot in the morning before we leave unless I find a better recipe between now and then.

Have a great day,

Jack
