We pulled into The Great Outdoor rv park at around 2:30 pm or so. Got the unit situated on the concrete driveway so we could use our screen at the end of the awning and so we could get satellite tv coverage. They have cable here but you have to sign a contract with the cable company like you would for a house and you need to put a digital box on every tv and then use their remotes for each box. When we booked the reservation several months ago we specifically asked for a site that we could get satellite on so we didn't have to mess with the digital boxes or with cable. Satellite also allows us to record programs and watch them later and we are just more comfortable with our Dish setup. We are able to get Dish but pulled a little forward on the site to miss the trees at the back of the lot.
After getting parked we then picked up the golf cart that we rented for the four months we are going to be here. The golf cart makes getting around easy and this place is much much larger than the park we were at last year. Tonight we took the dogs for a ride after dark to an area we could then walk them and saw three deer run across the road in front of us. This is without leaving the park.
Tomorrow we will wash the motorhome and finish getting everything else set up. Then we will see what activities etc this place has to offer other than the 18 hole golf course it is built around. We know it has two heated swimming pools, nature trails, a restaurant, a church, an activity center for plays and concerts, a fitness center but we are still learning about other things.
On December 4th an unmanned Orion rocket will be launched a few miles from the park at Cape Canaveral as part of a program called The Journey to Mars. We plan on seeing it take off if we get up for the 7:05 am launch.
In a few days I will try to post some pictures. The next day or two I will be busy.
