April 7, 2011 Myrtle Beach, SC Ocean Lakes Family Campground

Haven't written in a few so this is a belated birthday wish to my older brother...HAPPY BELATED 59TH BIRTHDAY, BILL.  Hope it was awesome!!

This campground is like a small city.  It would probably take a good two to three hours to walk all of the streets.  This is their slower season but the place is a constant buzz of activity.  There are a ga-zillion golf carts cruising the streets constantly.  The rules say (and remember what I've said about rules) that you have to be 16 to drive the carts but I swear some of these kids don't look a day over 12.  Of course that could be because the older a person gets the younger everyone else appears.  One day I'll wake up and everyone will be in diapers.  Oh wait a minute....that's my reoccurring nursing home nightmare.  Anyhow, I can't imagine how crazy Ocean Lakes get in the summer months.

Today I introduced myself to our neighbor, whose motor home sits directly across the street.  He ( T. Drake) and his wife are from Chillicothe, Ohio.  How bizarre is that?  What's even more bizarre is that he worked at Kenworth with my childhood best friend, Jan, for many years.  Such a small world.

We walked in the ocean this morning, rode our bikes, did laundry and made a trip to Wal Mart.  Jack made dinner, I cleaned up and now we are sitting here watching American Idol.   I swore I wouldn't watch that stupid show this year because I felt the show would suffer after Simon left.  CRAP!!   Steven Tyler has made it fun to watch.  So we are hooked.  Casey is my favorite but I think James will win.  I love his voice; I just don't like watching him perform.    Having said that I will post the pictures I've taken this week.  Some of them may be repetitive of Jack's.
