Sunday April 3, 2011 Summerville Flower Festival but no flowers

Since 1972 the city of Summerville, SC has held a Flower Festival to benefit the Summerville YMCA.   I am not sure what it was like over 30 years ago but today we were blown away by the number of people attending the festival.  We actually thought we would make the 30 mile drive from where we were staying and would see flowers and stuff like that.  Wrong, we saw no flowers but all kinds of food booths and tents selling everything you can imagine (love those boiled peanuts).  We had a good time and are both glad we went.
The super blogger gettin a hug from the po po in the middle of the street.

Bars are open on Sunday in South Carolina.  That makes sense since I get thristy on Sunday too.  This Sunday we are visiting the establishment of O'Lacy's pub which is a neat little bar with a friendly owner and bar tender.  I also like the sports theme on the inside.

Did you know that Crown Royal, Peach Snaapps and a splash of cranberry juice is called a Royal Flush?  I am not sure if it's called that because it has that kind of medicinal impact on you or not.  I will have to give it try and let you know. The bartender was sure keeping busy making these shots today.

This picture doesn't really give you the feel of how many people are at the Flower Festival today in Summerville, SC.  This goes on for over a mile and that is only on the main street.  There are also tents and food stands on side streets on both sides of the main street.  I am not sure if can double click on the photo above and blow it up to original size from medium size or not.  If you can, you will see the heads you are seeing in the middle of the picture are really going back hundreds of yards.
