Ride to Gulf and around campground

Today it is a little cool with highs in the low 60's.  It is expected to warm up to the 70's over the weekend.  We didn't go anywhere today.  Janet went to a class on basket weaving while I moved our screened room to a different location.  Later we took a bike ride to the Gulf.  Not much new to report today.  Below are some pictures I took of our bike ride.  People have told us that they really enjoy the pictures so I will keep posting.  The pictures got a little screwed up as far as the order they should be in due to some internet issues while I was uploading them.  In general we went out the back of the park away from the gulf then got on one of the bike trails that loops around beside the part and is actually on the other side of the lake behind our 5th wheel.   On this trail we stopped to see Lefty the alligator (Lefty is missing a left leg and one eye as well as half her tail) and her babies that are in a stream that the bike path crosses.  Today we also found an armadillo moving around in the brush just off the trail.  We left the bike trail and rode along the gulf stopping off at the picnic shelter where I took a few pictures of the Gulf.  We then returned to the park by the front entrance and stopped off at the nature center and swimming pool just to see what was going on.  Riding back to the 5th wheel I took a few random shots of the campground.

This is the condo building directly across from our 5th wheel that is lit up at night.  They are currently in the process of finishing it after sitting empty for years.

It's kind of hard to make out but this is an armadillo we found along the bike trail

There are several tennis courts

This building houses the laundromat and the store

This is the entrance to the pool

These are babies from Lefty that are on exhibit at the nature center.  The bigger one is from last year while the two smaller ones are from the 30+ she had this year.

The pool is very large

Some people think you need a large rv to live in for six months but there are several rv's that are relatively small in the park this year.  Last year in Florida there was a couple who stayed the winter in a pop up trailer.

Our unit is on the right side where the road curves to the left
We really like our site.  We have neighbors but not right on top of us like last year.
