One more trip to the Atlantic Coast

Hello,

Sorry we haven't posted in a while but we really haven't been doing too much differently over the last couple of weeks.  I waxed the bottom half of the motorhome.  I will wait until we get home to do the top half.  I don't have a tall enough step ladder to reach it safely here.  At home in the storage unit we have a 10 foot heavy duty ladder that is great to work off of.  Played in a two man nine hole golf scramble tournament this past Wednesday.  We choked on the ninth hole to finish with a bogey on an easy hole and wound up at two under for second place.  Had we been able to par the ninth hole we would have won since three under par won and we would have won the tie breaker with a birdy on the hardest hole on the course.  I have also traveled to other courses outside the park a couple of times and will be going to another course next Tuesday.  I played on course that the PGA played on in 1959.  It's still a really nice course with unbelievable greens.

Today we decided to go to the Atlantic coast for the last time while were here.  We started out just south of Stuart, Florida in a small town called Hoby Sound.  The water was so blue and beautiful it is hard to describe.  The other beauty in this area is the landscaping in front of these awesome properties. The trees, shrubs, and flowers at the driveway entrances are amazing.  Now I know why several pga golfers including Tiger Woods live in the this area.  We drove south from Hoby Sound staying as close to the coast as we could and went through Jupiter, Juno Beach, Riviera Beach and Palm Beach before heading west to a Chinese buffet for lunch.  Stopped at a place that was still busy even though it was after lunchtime so we thought this place would be a good place to eat.  Just about the worst Chinese food we have ever had.

Returned to the motorhome where learned we had finally received some rain while we were gone.  When we got back I let air out of the truck tires and put air in the motorhome tires.  Since we aren't towing anything heavy in the truck I let air out of the tires so it would ride better.  We will be towing it with the motorhome on our trip back to Indiana.  We have been starting to do little things each day in preparation for our departure on March 29th.  We will be heading to Adel, Georgia where we plan to stay three or four days and see the sites around this area of southern Georgia.  We aren't sure how long it will take to get back home but Huli really misses her boys so she will be pushing me to keep moving.  I am looking forward to seeing them too but I have also been watching the Indiana weather forecast.  We saw Gabe in January while we were home but haven't seen Jason since last October since he was in New Orleans when we were home in January.

The motorhome has been working great.  I have discovered two problems.  One was a carbon monoxide alarm that Newmar is sending a replacement for.  This was in the kitchen drawer and now we know why.  It wasn't working properly.  The other issue is when I finally got around to checking out the outside radio I couldn't get the radio to work using the Sony remote.  It worked fine using the radio controls but I couldn't get the remote to work.  After contacting Sony I learned that the radio had been replaced and would not work with the remote that was with the unit.  Someone apparently lost the front to the original radio so they replaced it.  It works fine but Newmar said they will replace it with a Sony so everything on the motorhome is Sony like it should be.  North Trail RV has ordered a new Sony radio that has a compatible remote control and includes the proper owners manual.

I started ordering oil filters, air filters and fuel filters for the engine and generator.  I am going to try and do the more straight forward maintenance myself and then take the unit to either Stoops in Fort Wayne or Cummins/Onan in Elkhart for the other maintenance.  The Elkhart location hasn't impressed me so far since they told me they charge a handling fee and an up charge of 10% on parts ordered through them compared to the Cummins/Onan website.  I explained the website wasn't functioning but that didn't matter to them.  I later ordered the parts from Cummins in Ocala, Florida for the website price and no handling fee.  They were happy to ship them to Indiana and couldn't understand what the Elkhart location was doing.  I sent the Elkhart location an email today and ask if the up charge also applies to motorhomes brought to them for service.  If it does I am going to try and not go there for service.  It's a matter of principle and not letting them screw you.

Below are some pictures of our drive to the coast today.  These primarily consist of the landscape outside of the multi million dollar houses along the coast.
