Andy Kool, no really that's his name, and his two helpers are coming to polish/detail the motorhome. Our motorhome sat on the North Trail RV lot for several months before we purchased it probably getting washed week in and week out. This washing without using the proper technique created some swirl scratches on the dark paint that I want to have removed. It's actually on all of the paint but you really only notice it on the dark brown. I have removed these scratches on a motorcycle and a car but not on something as large as a motorhome. So I hired a detailing company that is coming tomorrow to do a two stage polishing technique that will remove the swirl scratches and what are called cob webs. If you have a dark colored car and have washed it many times you probably know what I am talking about. In any event Andy said the paint will look just like new after he and his two helpers are finished with it. They are starting at 8:00am and will work all day on it.
Today the adjuster for Safeway came and took pictures of the damage to our motorhome. He said the right front wheel will need to be replaced. I wondered if they would try to say you just have the scratches ground and then polished out. But no, he immediately said the wheel will have to be replaced. We plan on having the motorhome fixed just like new and will then argue with insurance companies if we need to.
Today we hung out at the motorhome. The first thing we did is put down the visor and awning to get ready for the detailing company coming tomorrow. We removed some Christmas decorations and our name sign and moved the charger for the golf cart over to our neighbors lot. Then I cleaned my golf clubs getting ready for playing this coming Wednesday with a neighbor and some others in the park. Then we went down and spent some time in the pool and hot tub before coming back to the motorhome to eat supper.
The weather here today was in the 80's. It could be a few degrees colder and it wouldn't bother me. Tomorrow we will hang around here while the detailing is being done and then the rest of the week we plan to explore areas outside the park.
