Getting ready to head south for the winter

Well it's that time of the year again to pack up and head south for the winter.  We are 90% packed and will be leaving in the morning.  Our first stop will be a state park in Kentucky that I have been camping at since I was around 10 years old or so.  The name of the park is General Butler State Park and it is located outside of Carrollton, Kentucky which is across the Ohio river from Madison, Indiana.  We will probably stay there a couple days or so before heading south to Sevierville, Tennessee. They have a golf course at General Butler so if the weather is good I may get to play.  It will take us about fours to go from our house to General Butler and then another four hours to go from General Butler to Sevierville, TN.  In Sevierville we stay at the River Plantation RV Resort and will make trips to the Smokey Mountain National Park while we are there.  This is one of our favorite places on earth.  If you remember in 2012 we came face to face with a large bear by accident. The picture is posted below.  Glad he was in a good mood and pretty much just ignored us.  We were in the truck driving very slow around a corner of a dirt road with a very high embankment and there he was.  The bear was eye level with us and about four to six feet away at the closest point.   At first I was afraid and thought we should take off but he didn't seem overly concerned with us so we just sat there and watched him eat.  I took a few pictures once I stopped shaking so I could hold the camera still.  At first we were too close to even get a good picture.  I consider this to be one of those once in a lifetime experiences.

On the 17th we will be staying over night in the parking lot of the Freightliner Service center in Gaffney South Carolina so we can get the motorhome serviced on the 18th.  When we leave Gaffney we are headed to Greenville, South Carolina where we will be spending time with our oldest son Gabe.  We are looking forward to seeing him again.  When we leave Greenville SC we are headed east to Charleston and will then make our way south so we are in Titusville, Florida on December 1st which will be our winter home.  We are staying at the Great Outdoor RV Resort.  This resort is known for it's wilderness setting as well as being built on a golf course.  Sites either back up to the golf course or to a wooded area.  We have never been there before so we will see how it goes.
