Sevierville, TN

We made our first stop at General Butler State Park in Carrollton, KY on Wednesday at about 4:00 pm.  It rained most of the evening and the forecast for Thursday sounded like the same.  Instead of sitting where it was cold and rainy we headed out Thursday and made it to Sevierville, TN before 4:00 on Thursday.  We are planning to stay here five days and then we are headed to Ashville, NC where we are going to stay six days.  We are staying at what sounds like an awesome lodge and rv resort in Ashville up near the top of the mountains.  Ashville is a very popular retirement area so we are looking forward to our stay there.  I also went ahead and made our reservations for a campground outside of Greenville SC after we spend two nights at the Freightliner Service Center.  We will spend time with Gabe at this stop.  After Greenville we are on to Charleston where we will spend three days and then on to Savannah where we will spend Thanksgiving. After Savannah we head to the Great Outdoors Resort in Titusville, FL where we will stay until the first of April.

We are hoping for better luck with this years Thanksgiving dinner.  Last year we bought a small turkey but our Frigidaire convection oven didn't do a very good job cooking it.  What we thought would take three to four hours took six or seven. I replaced the Frigidaire with a GE oven which is like the one we had in our fifth wheel which we loved.  We also had a slow cooker ceramic pot break so we had to buy a new slow cooker.  Since we often cook when we are traveling I bought the mack daddy of slow cookers.  It's called the Ninja cooking system.  This thing can be used like a stove burner, an oven, or a slow cooker.  You can time bake and then tell it to keep things warm after baking.  So far we really like this new appliance.  We think it will also come in handy for cooking our Thanksgiving dinner.

Tomorrow we are heading up to Knoxville but will be back in time to watch Notre Dame play at 3:30.  Go Irish.
