Pictures from our stay in the Okefenokee Swamp

This is us at Abbey Hanna park in Jacksonville getting ready to leave.  I wanted to measure the total length of the truck, 5th wheel,  and swivel wheel trailer all hooked up together.  We are at about 57.5 ft in total length.

On our way to the Okefenokee swamp campground we encountered smoke for much of the trip.  I think most of southeast Georgia must be on fire.

Here we are in our new site for the next three days.  The park has a total of 61 sites but only about five are being used at the present time.

Another picture of the smoke on our way.

The mosquitos start biting at first light.  The bugs in general are terrible so we came prepared.

"Way down upon the Suwannee river"  I assume this is the river the song is about.

This starts our second day when we rented a row boat with a six horse power motor.  We took the boat about five miles into the swamp to an island where we had lunch before returning back to the campground.  Believe it or not the bugs weren't as bad deep in the swamp as they were in the campground area.
