After returning the plastic dog clipper extensions we bought and buying the proper new longer steel blade for our new clippers we were in business. This morning Janet and I finished grooming Tanner and other than a small place where Janet went a little crazy yesterday he actually looked great. I told Janet not to worry about the little knick on his side because my dad cut my hair using clippers for years and always said after these little blips there is only seven days difference between a good hair cut and a bad one. The only thing is walking around for those seven days was hell.
Being married for forty years you tend to figure out what each person is good at and kind of divide up what needs to be done. Turns out I am good at using the clippers on the dogs. One thing I told Janet I think she may have a calling for his "expressing" the dogs anal glands. This is the other thing that got done at the periodic dog grooming appointments. I told Janet that if we run out of money in retirement this is another skill she could list on her resume to keep us out of the poor house. "Experienced and proficient dog anal gland expresser" or is it expressor? Either way I just know she is going to be good at it. Janet watched the video on You Tube so I believe she is ready to go.
Turns out we are going to be getting a lot of company here on Monte Sano mountain this Sunday, January 23rd. A total of 350 runners will be running in the 50K Mountain Mist Trail Run. It's limited to 350 runners and has been closed out for some time. We have heard runners from all over the country come here to participate. Should be fun to watch.
