It's 64 degrees. We're in Williams, Arizona

It's was another day on the couch (driver's seat feels like your sitting on the couch) watching the clouds and mountains roll by.  The trip was uneventful and we kind of took our time.  Stopped at a couple of Indian, excuse me, Native American stores to buy some fry bread.  Probably good for us they were out. We arrived at the Railside RV Resort in the early evening and gained an hour even though we didn't leave the Mountain Time Zone.  Apparently Arizona doesn't do daylight savings time but New Mexico does.   The train is just outside our door and the person greeting us when we arrived said the doggy baby sitting service is available at no charge.  They would come every 4 hours to let the dogs out.  We explained that Tanner, who is 13.5 years old, needs carried down the stairs of the motorhome and carried back up and he said that wouldn't be a problem.  The office at the rv park had a stairway going up the backside of the building so I took advantage of this while Huli was checking us in.  I could see down on the motorhome roof perfectly and the tape job is holding up great.

On the mileage front we were traveling at 65-66 mph the entire trip and I used the economy mode on the flat parts but turned it off when approaching any significant grades.  Kind of defeated the purpose probably.  Anyway, I was kicking butt getting 8.5 mpg until I was about 40 miles or so east of Flagstaff on a nice flat road and the mileage went down to 7.9 for the day.  I sat there and just watched it drop on a flat open road 80 miles or so from our destination.  There were signs posted along the road about zero visibility but I didn't notice any major winds.

We haven't decided on whether or not we are going to do the train ride to the Grand Canyon.  If we do I want to go ahead and do it right and be in the luxury dome.  This is another word for the car where you can see outside easily and take pictures.  We will sleep on it and then decide.  The forecast here is for high temps of 75 and lows in the 50's with a chance of thunderstorms for the next four days.  You don't play with lighting around the Grand Canyon.  A couple was killed there a couple of days ago from a lighting strike.  I guess the rim is extremely dangerous as lighting goes.

Here are the pics.  I hope I am not over doing it on the scenery but it is neat to see how things change as you go down the road so I am trying to show you that in the pictures I post.

This is a picture of the most spoiled dog in the world.  Tanner aka Grumpy Gus.  We spend more on his food than mine and he is on about as many meds as I am.  He gets carried up and down stairs,  he gets carried on walks if he gets tuckered out and can't walk any more.  Yep, he is very spoiled.   I wonder if he could use another pillow?

Here we are.  A little tight but we are getting used to it.  This morning when we left Albuquerque we had some maneuvering to do just to get out of the park.  Couldn't hook up the car until we got to the exit of the park.  I also missed an indian store and had to do a U turn again today.  I am getting the hang of how much distance I need to do a uey.
