We are now in Joplin, Mo.

Not much to report today.  We drove west on route 270 for a short time and then hit hwy 44 heading southwest.  In total we traveled about 300 miles or so today.  The last I looked today's mpg was 8.1.  We were in moderate hills so I did not use the economy mode at all.  Using the economy mode in hills slows you down way too much going up hill and after cresting the hill if it's flat it takes too long to get back up to your preset speed.  So in the hills especially in fairly heavy traffic I leave the economy mode turned off.  The good news is the electrical short or poor connection we experienced Tuesday on the cruise control did not reoccur today.  I went into the electrical cabinet yesterday and make sure the connectors were tightly plugged in but did not see anything loose or looking out of the ordinary.  Everything today went very smooth and the road was very good.

I really am glad I had the second receiver added to the tow bar receiver for towing the bicycles.   This allows me to check on the bikes by looking in the rear view camera.  I also can unhook the car and have lift the tail gate without removing the bikes. Here is a picture of the bikes on the back as we are going down the road.  There is a shadow that makes it a little hard to see.   I will need to take another picture without the shadow that gives a clear view.

One interesting thing about land locked Missouri is they manufacture a lot of boats.  On the way down we passed three very large boat manufacturing plants including Tracker Marine.

When we pulled into the rv park it was 95 degrees.  After getting set up we went to the store for some laundry softener and then came back and hit the swimming pool.  The pool felt great with it being so warm.  Tonight we are going to see what there is to see around the Joplin, Mo. area.  We plan on chilling around the rv for part of our stay and doing some exploring the rest of the time.  Only a couple of pictures today.

Here is the picture of the bikes and the car.  The bikes are hard to see and I will post another picture without the shadow at another time.

We hit a traffic jam for about five minutes.  We never did learn what caused the hold up.
