We are now in Albuquerque

We got on route 40 and went west.  A few hours later we were at our rv site in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  The pictures below show the scenery change we drove through today.  The experience was kind of like sitting on your couch and watching the clouds go by.  I started out saying I am going to try and do better to be more conservative as the mileage goes.  I set the cruise on 60 mph and drove for a long time at this speed.  We stopped and got gas so I reset the Leg indicator which is what I use to track the mileage and distance etc. per each tank full.  At the beginning of the day I also reset the daily indicator.  We started out and the mileage went up to 7.2 on the daily indicator and kind of stayed in the 7.1 to 7.3 range.  After we got fuel the Leg indicator went up to the 7.3 to 7.4 range.  I thought well for .8 mpg I am putting the hammer down but this is after we were three fourths of the way there.  We were also starting to get into more mountainous areas.  I started going 65-70 but the mileage on both the Leg and Daily started going up. When we pulled into the rv park the daily was up to 7.8 and the Leg was up to 8.0.  What this tells me is the wind which I thought was a straight cross wind when we were in Texas must have been pushing us back too. I saw signs that said dangerous cross winds on several different occasions.  I must have increased our speed at the same time we were getting out of the wind and that is what led to the mpg increase in a relatively short distance.  If I would have kept it at 60 we may have done better but I am not sure.

The next photos were taken at the rv park we are staying at for the next three nights.

Not a lot of elbow room but it will work for three nights.
