Making our way east to Lancaster, PA

This morning we got up at 9ish and took the dogs for a walk, had breakfast, and got things ready to go. Left Chillicothe, Oh. between  10:30 and 11:00 heading north and east to New Stanton, PA which is southeast of Pittsburgh.  We got into New Stanton at around 4:00 PM.

Just to demonstrate how screwed up the price of gas and diesel is please permit me to share with all of you what we have found along our journey thus far.   We filled up in Chillicothe yesterday and after getting a Walmart prepaid debit card which gets you 10 cents off ( I know...I'm so tight I squeak. Which on some things I agree with - other things it absolutely doesn't bother me to spend money. On buying diesel I am pretty tight since the truck tank holds 46 gallons ) anyway back to my story.  I paid $3.51 per gallon in Chillicothe.  After driving approximatetly five hours and 20+ gallons later we filled up in New Stanton, PA for $4.09 per gallon.  Unfortunately the Walmart here did not have a Murphy Oil gas station. The only thing we could figure out is because it was close to Interstate 70 the price is high for the July 4th weekend.  From our experience we do believe that the Walmart gas stations help keep the other gas stations prices lower.  This and the policy of allowing r'vers to stay overnight in the parking lot in a pinch are a couple of the reasons most r'vers like Walmart.  Oh well, the $4.09 is better than the $4.29 a gallon we paid in Indiana when we came home in April.

Not much else to report except Hulio got hit in the head with a frozen pot roast when I opened the freezer door and she was kneeling down putting bottled water in the refrigerator.  She said she saw stars just like in the cartoons.

Bye for today,

Jack
